Legal and Risk Coordinator

Event planning and production company in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal and Risk Coordinator, reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, to join our family.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all current and pending legal cases working directly with our attorneys at the main point of contact and Encore Live representative
  • Review, redline, negotiate and create all incoming and outgoing contracts – including but not limited to: event services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, hotel contracts, vendor contracts, talent services agreements, talent agency contracts, artist riders, and letters of intent
  • Assure controls are operating effectively
  • Provide research and analytical support to all departments
  • Design and implement an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur
  • Perform regular risk assessments – analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
  • Execute regular risk evaluations – evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements
  • Establish the level of risk the company is willing to take
  • Prepare risk management and insurance budgets
  • Create business continuity plans to mitigate risks along with the Office Manager
  • Implement health and safety measures along with the Office Manager
  • Oversee company umbrella insurance policies, certificates of insurance, equipment floater, company vehicles, and special event insurance policies
  • Maintain detailed records of insurance policies and claims
  • Review any new contracts or internal business proposals
  • Ensure company is pulling insurance policies as required and acquiring COIs from clients as stated in agreements
  • Build risk awareness amongst staff by providing internal support and training


  • Associates degree in paralegal studies is required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management of Business is preferred from a credible college or university. In lieu of a degree, relevant 5+ years of experience is desired
  • Certification from organizations such as NALA and/or AACP is recommended

Other skills and abilities:

  • Experience in using legal database software is preferred
  • Must be self-motivated, as you will not be micromanaged
  • Must have very good verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done
  • Must have strong business acumen with an eye for detail
  • Must be willing to work events and travel minimally (about 5-10%) as needed
