Business Development Representative

The ideal candidate for our Business Development Representative position is highly driven, passionate and an ethical professional who puts their client’s success as their top priority. This position will leverage current relationships and uncover new business leads with the goal of selling our event management services. Recognizing where our clients and potential clients will have a need for our services is also crucial to the success of this role.

This is a full-time position that includes a base salary to begin, full benefits, and above industry standard commissions. Commissions are based on, but not limited to: hotel procurement contracts, talent buying, food/beverage management, production, event design and fabrication, travel coordination, and conference registration. The commission is not capped, so the sky is the limit on your earning potential!

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Researching potential clients and targeting the best business based on our business model
  • Developing new accounts within a specified market(s)
  • Growing revenue by selling our event management services via phone, email and face to face visits
  • Attending industry events to promote our brand and services
  • Meeting set sales metrics established by the Senior Leadership Team including lead generation and revenue goals
  • Embodying Encore Live’s values of gritty, problem solver and selfless
  • Traveling when business dictates and making trips to Encore Live’s HQ as needed for team meetings and company events
  • Representing the firm in the community with prospective/existing clients and industry professionals
  • Electronic and phone prospecting

A successful Business Development Representative will be:

  • Detail-oriented and highly capable of prioritizing tasks and handling multiple leads and projects at once
  • Able to deliver instruction well and always be a team player
  • Able to remain calm under pressure/tight deadlines and to maintain a positive attitude is a MUST
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills possessing a keen ability to effectively communicate across internal teams, clients, vendors, and staff
  • Willing to travel and work remotely at times, working evenings and weekends as required
  • Interested and passionate in learning and working in the events industry
  • Able to exert physical labor and event setup as required at times
  • Display a sense of urgency and timeliness when responding to leads, potential clients and internal staff
  • An excellent communicator

Requirements:

  • Professional appearance
  • High proficiency with all Microsoft Office software, CRM software such as Salesforce and familiarity with Apple products
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in group sales procurement for a hotel, convention & visitors bureau and/or other hospitality related sales
  • Strong track record of successful new client development is preferred
  • Solid history of closing business
  • Possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit to grow and sustain a business
  • Measurable experience in building strong relationships and planning abilities
  • Should have reliable transportation to attend industry meetings, client pitches, networking opportunities and events
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States
