Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for bringing concepts to life visually and meeting the design needs of our clients in conjunction with our in-house Media Designer and Marketing Manager. The Graphic Design Intern will work closely with our operations, production, and creative departments on projects and events. Overall they will communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • You will get the most from this experience if you are at least a Junior and have a few core design classes under your belt
  • Meet with project lead and/or client to determine the scope of a project
  • Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience
  • Determine the message the design should portray
  • Create images that identify a product and convey a strong message
  • Develop graphics and visual or audio images
  • Create designs either by hand or by using computer software packages
  • Select colors, images, text styles, and layouts
  • Present the design to marketing specialist
  • Incorporate changes recommended into the final design
  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
  • A successful candidate will posses:
  • Currently enrolled in college and studying in the field of Graphic Design or related field
  • Professional portfolio
  • Photography and video editing skills, while not mandatory, are a plus
  • High proficiency with all Microsoft Office software
  • Medium to High-level experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Ability to sketch and hand-draw design concepts
  • High capability of prioritizing tasks and remaining detail-oriented
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and a positive attitude is a MUST
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with all social media platforms and best practices
  • Passion for learning about the events industry
  • Time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to meet deadlines and exceed design expectations

Additional Information

The Graphic Design Intern would ideally work in the office at least 15 hours a week.
